The DJ and critical favourite from Kimmie's latest release, "Walls Fall Down" was recorded at her Sunbird Recording Studios in Austin Texas with Gabe Rhodes, guitar, Joe Gracey rhythm guitar, John Gardener, drums and percussion, Glen Fukunaga, bass and background vocals by Irish friends Kieran Goss and Annie Kinsella on backing vocals.
Love & Happiness For You (4:46) currently exclusively available only on this single
Kimmie and Willie met in the early 80's when he invited her to record her first songs in his studio and since then have recorded
and performed many times together over the years. This previously unreleased duet of Love & Happiness For You (co-written by Kimmie & Emmylou Harris) captures that friendship in a relaxed acoustic setting. Session players also include Gabe Rhodes on guitar (Kimmie’s multi-instrumentalist son and producer of many of her CD releases) and the late David Zettner on upright bass and pedal steel. David was a dear friend of Willie & Kimmie and got his start in the music business at the age of eighteen playing bass in Willie's road band. He was the inspiration for Willie's song "Jimmy's Road". David also played in Kimmie's bands for many years and toured England and Europe with her twice, playing steel in her band when she headlined the Wembley Festival in London.

Kimmie Rhodes delivers a superb set of all new recordings, with nine self-penned songs never before heard, a Townes Van Zandt classic and a new tune written by Rodney Crowell. Recorded in her Austin studio with a stellar cast of friends including Irish pals Kieran Goss and Annie Kinsella, multi-instrumentalist and co-producer Gabriel Rhodes, rock-solid rhythm section stars John Gardner and Glen Fukunaga and cello master Brian Standefer, the music ranges from Americana country to contemporary folk to Texas rock. Once again we are treated to the brilliant lyrics, fantastical imagination, positive inspiration, and pointed irony of Kimmie’s writing, which has earned her many platinum-selling songs and famous admirers over the years. Walls Fall Down marks the 10th release on her indie label Sunbird Records, which she and Joe Gracey launched in 1996.

Walls Fall Down is the prolific and renowned songwriter’s best since West Texas Heaven. Her songs have a sweetness and deceptive simplicity that sets them somewhere between old love songs and hymns.
**** MOJO Magazine
Lone Star Kimmie is the real deal and a songwriter worth getting excited about... an easy going way with a song that clearly strikes a chord with intelligent music lovers here. Walls Fall Down is arguably her finest long player to date.
Ralph McLean … Belfast Telegraph & BBC Radio
Those who admire talented creative singer-songwriters should check tour dates and make every possible effort to attend one of Kimmie’s shows. They’ll be glad they did.
**** Maverick Magazine

**** Country Music People
Rhodes is from Lubbock, Texas, and it was interesting how the chorus on I've Been Loved By You sounded like it could easily have come from the pen of her hometown's most famous son, Buddy Holly.
Bristol Evening Post
Emmylou Harris once said Rhodes “has the voice of a beautiful child coming from an old soul.” Combine that with her excellent writing and you’ve got Walls Fall Down.
