There comes that stage in every young band's life when thoughts turn to conquering America. Like the small pop group THE BEATLES before them, Britain's LET'S WRESTLE are crossing the pond in a bid for that elusive American hit (and a reception committee of screaming girls). Newly signed to the US label that brought us such hit paraders as ARCADE FIRE, SPOON and, of course, SUPERCHUNK, LET'S WRESTLE fit comfortably in the Merge Records' stable, nestled somewhere between LAMBCHOP and THE LOVE LANGUAGE in the roster's alphabetical order.
LET'S WRESTLE will release their debut album, "In the Court of the Wrestling Let's", on 23 March in the States. Wesley Patrick Gonzalez, Mike Lightning, and Darkus Bishop will travel to Texas for an appearance at Merge Record's SXSW showcase in Austin at Cedar Street on 18th March and will play many gigs across the USA, first with TITUS ANDRONICUS in March and then with QUASI in April. There will also be a show at the Knitting Factory in New York on 15 March hosted by the good people at Brooklyn Vegan.
