Brighton’s post-punk hurricane that is POPE JOAN smash into 2010 with their brand new single "Dictator" set for release on 29th March.

Having caught the attention of Steve Lamacq last year with their AA side single "Centurions/Volumes", POPE JOAN have been busy gigging and recording with none other than Mark Williams (WHITE LIES, BIFFY CLYRO, THE CRIBS, NINE BLACK ALPS, ENTER SHIKARI) in preparation for what will no doubt be their biggest year to date.

POPE JOAN's sound has developed into a stripped back force of sonic poetry, bringing to the fore joyously crafted songs delivered by the their outrageously charismatic frontman Mark Aron. "Dictator", the first single taken from their forthcoming album due out later this year is one such song. Spectral synth-lines sit perfectly over the staccato guitars building up to a deliciously anthemic vocal hook that will no doubt be capturing the hearts of many a festival crowd this year

To fully appreciate the raw musical talent that they possess, their explosive live shows are a must see. Last year saw them play with THE INVISIBLE, THE HOOSIERS, THE FALL, and DANANANANAYKROYD to name a few resulting in a scrum of promoters banging on their door.

Comprising of Mark Aaron (Vocals, Guitars), Tom Windsor (Synths, Guitars, Vocals), Dave Coomber (Bass Guitars, Synths, Vocals) and Andre Millin (Drums) these four south coast troubadours have sculpted a raucous and quirky breed of left field pop as angular as their impossibly good looks. With a string of singles and a brand new album all set for release the future looks very bright.
