Vic Godard & the Subway Sect are set to play a very special one off London show at the 100 Club on Thursday the 20th of November 2014.

For the first time ever, the original 1981 / 82 line up Vic Godard (vocals), Rob Marche (guitar), Sean McLusky (drums) and Chris Bostock (bass) will perform (in its entirety) their ‘SONGS FOR SALE’ album, originally released on London Records in 1982,

The night will also feature a full supporting bill from the legendary Club Left night where Godard and the band were weekly residents including the original Club Left DJ Johnny Britton and other special musical guests.

CLUB LEFT

In 1981 Vic Godard & The Subway Sect took up a Thursday night residency at the old Whisky A Go Go club on Wardour Street in Soho and named the night CLUB LEFT. In what was seen as a radical move at the time they set about rediscovering the original roots of the Soho scene in Jazz, Swing, Rock ’n’ Roll and Latin beats, honing a new set of Subway Sect material that became the album ‘SONGS FOR SALE’. Throughout the year the club night grew in infamy and became a key hang out for those in the know in the flourishing London club scene of the time. There were Club Left special events at Ronnie Scotts, Club Left warehouse parties plus the band toured with the club night around the UK and Europe to great success.
