Spirytus started life in 2004 but it was not until 2010 that the band really settled on their sound and path. The metal groove crew dropped their debut album four years ago and it picked up extensive national coverage. The quintet went on to widely tour and hit the festival circuit racking up appearances at Ibiza's Hard Rock Hell Road Trip (where they played for three consecutive years. In 2011, Spirytus opened for Ill Nino, as well as playing
the Kick Out The Jams Festival and Hammerfest, where they headlined the Fresh Blood Stage.

Spirytus also played Hammerfest again in 2012, after they

beat over 1000 bands at the Highway to Hell competition to win a slot to appear at the festival. Along the way, Ryan from the band, has also managed to sing on stage with Fred Durst on three separate occasions; his band mate, Wes Borland from Limp Bizkit, refers to Ryan as 'the guy with the loudest voice on the planet'.

Despite the accolades garnered for their debut album, the fivesome wanted to evolve their sound and in doing so they parted ways with one of their guitarists, recruiting a turntablist to further enhance their funky tendencies. Now with a revitalised line-up featuring Ryan Walton (Vocals), Ben Edis (Bass), Mike Ranzetta (Guitar), Ben McAlonan (Drums) and Daniel Jones (Turntablist) and a rejuvenated sound that merges animated party-time funk with the fiery edge of modern metal, Spirytus unveiled their new EP 'The Fundamentals EP', which received strong support from Scuzz TV, Powerplay and Rocksound, as well as picking up a host of coverage from a series of key online publications. The band are set to up the stake again with the release of their killer new video 'All Because of Me', which is due to hit TV screens this Autumn.
