Taken from his upcoming U.K./European rerelease of the EP, Raincoats & Other Short Stories (which includes remastered songs and a bonus track), Scott Gray returns with a new single, “Someday”.
Inspired by master storytellers like Adele, Ray LaMontagne, and Jamie Cullum, Scott wanted to do something unique musically while telling stories that connect. Instead of following a formula, he followed the story and the desire to give something unique to those who listen. “It excites me to be creating something that connects me with other people in a personal way,” says Scott who grew up in Southern Illinois listening to songwriters such as Sting and Amy Grant. “I think for anyone who is passionate about music, the personal experience is part of the enjoyment for them. We are all looking for connection. I want them to feel like they were included – a part of the process.”
Radio has already embraced “Someday” (the third radio single within this last year) and is currently playing across the U.K. and Europe with new stations adding it weekly to their playlists. “Someday” is a somber track, rich with vibrant instrumentation, underpinned by Gray’s unique vocal talents.
"Even though ‘Someday’ was written as a sad ‘I’ve never found my true love' love song, I really wrote it with an underlying message for all of my fellow dreamers out there. That message is this: Sometimes, when you have a dream so ingrained in your soul, it can feel like that dream is purposefully eluding you. Whether your dream is about finding that one true love or landing that dream job -whatever that lost treasure is, don’t give up hope. I know from personal experience that your ‘Someday’ can often times feel so far away. But find courage, you will either find it or something even better will find you ‘Someday.’ - Scott Gray

For Scott, the music isn’t about him; it is about the listener. Although he has sat behind the piano for many years, Scott has been on an emotional journey that he hopes his audience will appreciate and identify with.
Scott Gray remastered the music and added a special bonus track to his upcoming EP, Raincoats & Other Short Stories, which will be released exclusively in the U.K. and Europe on March 22, 2019 with a new video following shortly after.
