Review: 'Electro Deluxe'
'Home'

-  Album: 'Home'
-  Genre: 'Soul'

Our Rating:
Slick, soulful, brassy, bold and monumentally funky, ‘Home’ is a pumped-up jazz-orientated collection that’s all about movin’ groovin’ and getting’ down, y’all. ‘Devil’ bops down to a booty-shakin’ groove. ‘Twist Her’, with its directions to shake your hips and clap your hands is twist is particularly irksome: maybe it’s just because I abhor authority and won’t stand for any funky fucker telling me what to do. Or maybe it’s because it all seems to contrived. It’s so damn funky I could puke.

Nagging wiggles and insistent noodles grind and pester, and of course, it’s all about the tight musicianship. Indulgent, showy? Of course it is. People love this kind of shit, but such wankery ain’t my bag.
