With a strong feel-good country vibe 'Merry Go Round' is a fantastic example of songwriting at its best.
Colin Clyne's voice is unique and soulful which - coupled with the upbeat acoustic instrumentation - makes for an amazing sing-along track. The middle eight is a really clever edition as it really adds some shade to this sunny summery song. I love the way it drops down with a minor edge before slowly building back up for a powerful chorus.
Overall this is an amazing song by Colin Clyne. It's not hard to see why he has so many fans in high places (e.g. Chris Hawkins from BBC 6 Music). As a taster from his album 'The Never Ending Pageant' (which is due to drop on the 21st of July) I am definitely sold on Colin Clyne and cannot wait to get my hands on this album!
