Review: 'Dub Colossus'
'Addis to Omega'

-  Album: 'Addis to Omega' -  Label: 'Echomaster'
-  Genre: 'Reggae' -  Catalogue No: 'EM002'

Our Rating:
Heavy beats and dirty bass scratches underpin the driving groove of single cut ‘Boom Ka Boom’ that blasts the album off in energetic fashion. Spacey dub with some bubbling and lively undercurrents defines the album's sound. The mellow grooves and smooth vocals, coupled with some tidy brass and space-age synth bleeps are the velvet glove that decorates the clenched fist of the album’s lyrical content.

They’re sick and tired of the system, they’re not going to stand for it any more and they’re going to stick it to the man. It’s a sentiment many can identify with. Of course, these are popular dub reggae tropes and it’s unlikely vocalising through music alone can change anything. But better to speak out than remain silent, and they’ve made a decent record while they’re about it.
