And as for the raucous sax break at the end... well! What’s to say?
‘Californian English’ is a true gem of a track. Yes, it’s pure 80s pop, but the synths and nagging guitar are balanced to perfection and the song builds to a magnificent surging rush of a climactic finish that’s hard to fault.
