Taylor Locke sure knows what the essential ingredients for a classic rock song are. After as many years in the business as he’s had, maybe he ought to, but his first true solo work after his time with Rooney and Taylor Locke and the Roughs still means he has something to prove and he’s come up trumps.
The evidence is all there in ‘Call Me Kuchu’, lifted from his upcoming album ‘Time Stands Still’. With some rollicking guitars and a beefy rhythm section, it doesn’t exactly stint of the melody or either. With a proper vintage vibe and some sleek harmonies in the chorus, this is an assured effort that’s got soul and a truly authentic feel.
