It’s all in the mix. There’s so much to dislike about this band, from the hackneyed name and the contrasting clean / shouty vocals, they’ve got all the ingredients of by-numbers metalcore and Biffy Clyro as their foundations.
But the shouty vocals are buried way low in the mix, beneath an immense slab of rhythm guitar and chugging bass and a soaring lead guitar. And they actually have some decent songs, too, which are delivered with a clear sense of urgency. They do angry when it counts, but have enough emotional pull to be convincing but without being overtly emo.
