Review: 'Tabloids'
'Grave'

-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: '15th June 2015'

Our Rating:
Following up from their debut EP released last year, Tabloids offer up ‘Grave’. They pack a blustery, bass-driven energy alongside guitars that explode against hectic hi-hats to conjure a taut, cutty post-punk pop tune that clocks in at a mere 2:43. It hits with the exhilarating impact of Editors’ ‘Bullets’ and deserves to see these guys break through in similar fashion.

They put their money on their influences here: having cited Joy Division and The Smiths as having a substantial bearing on their sound, the B-side is a cover of ‘London’. They’ve not messed with the original, but attack the track with a vigour that adds impact and shows that Tabloids mean it.
