Review: 'Bavota, Bruno'
'Mediterraneo'

-  Album: 'Mediterraneo' -  Label: 'Dronarivm'
-  Genre: 'Post-Rock' -  Release Date: '25th May 2015'

Our Rating:
There’s a tranquillity about Bavota’s neoclassical compositions that’s delicate and pleasing to the ear. His playing is similarly tempered and gentle, the piano rolling in soft waves that soothe the psyche.

The strings that wash over are magnificently understated, adding semi-transparent layers of calming atmosphere. Yet Bavota succeeds in producing a work that’s far from twee and doesn’t feel like it’s been created with a view to being used in adverts or TV, and ‘Mediterraneo’ is by no means some easy ‘chillout’ album. It is, however, the perfect remedy to the hectic pace of life in the 21st century.
