Our Rating:
I promise to not make up any concepts for this EP like I did for the excellent 'Lunchbox Loves You' album I reviewed last year. So let's get down to business: this is a follow up 6 track 7" single with a picture of a cool Teac tape recorder on the cover.

The A side opens with the cool power pop of Heaven: a well-titled slice of summer pop heaven that is a little Pulp-esque. It's followed by the super speedy Paws Of Destiny - a great Indie pop tune with fizzing guitars and fine harmonies that's just a little bit C86-ish. It will have you singing along to the chorus by the second or third listen.

The third song on the A-side is Flatland. It's a fast paced Indie Pop tune to make you bounce around while they tell us their feelings are true in a 5:30-style indie-mod stylee rather than pop.

On the B-side, Friends bursts out of the speakers and thankfully isn't the theme song of that awful show, but a very speedy ode to the singer's friends. I really like the vocal effects that make them sound like they're being played through a transistor radio.

(It's Your) Love Song is a typical strum-along power pop plea for love that breezes by so quickly you won't have made up your mind yet as to if you want his love or not. The single finishes with Most Unlikely To Succeed and it sort of lives up to its title as it's the song least likely to grab you here even though it has some pretty cool guitar bits in the middle. It's not, however, the strongest song on the EP.
