Our Rating:
Well I don't get to hear much in the way of Argentinian indie music so this is a bit of a journey into the unknown but as it comes on the very cool Jigsaw label it was always going to be worth checking out. Originally self-released on cassette in Argentina this is a great indie album.

From the opener Los Novios she sounds a lot like Spanish Indie act La Heydi crossed with bits of Helen Love. Porno De Chicas (even though I don't understand Spanish) is a delicious slice of indie bile aimed at the Porno stars that reminds me a bit of Hepburn.

Tendran Suz Razones is again a lot like La Heydi and the sort of song that should get a good reaction live as the vocals float above the echo laden drums. It sounds like it might be a love song and if I knew more than how to order food in Spanish I'd be able to tell you.

I love the glockenspiel on Mi Gato which also features a gently strummed acoustic guitar. It's almost a lullaby. El Poder De La Cancion almost sounds like the Guatemalan band Viernes Verde but with a woman singer. It's very much in an almost traditional South American pop style. Well, I say this from my limited exposure to this genre.

Interludio does what you'd expect an interlude piece to do in a nice, pretty way to to open the LP's second half. Ramitas, meanwhile, is quite dreamy and restrained and has more of that very cool glockenspiel going on.

Metodologia De Escape is a fine slice of indie pop; almost like Lush with a good dash of La Heydi and it sounds like to should be a single whatever kind of escape they are singing about. Las Bandas Que Escucho Son Mias has a very cool break down in the middle of this rather nice poppy song that sounds like the poppy end of Sahara Hot Nights music.

Los Amigos No Son Para Siempre has some interesting chiming guitars. It's almost like Damon and Naomi have finally made some happy upbeat music having heard La Heydi which is the over-riding sound of the album. The record closes with the title track Hasta Nunca: kind of a very short requiem or a bit of horror film music, but either way a cool ending for a very cool album.
