Review: 'Temporary Hero'
'Little Jack Frost Got Lost (EP)'

-  Genre: 'Pop' -  Release Date: '1st December 2015'

Our Rating:
I wasn’t exactly enamoured by Temporary Hero’s debut album, but this latest effort, supposedly a daring left turn, is something else. ‘It may not be for the purists, but hey... it’s Christmas!’ No. Just no.

Really. With an EP released on December the 1st, it is NOT Christmas, and whatever the season, there is really no excuse this kind of bollocks.

A brassed-up doo-wop effort that would have Sinatra puking in his grave, ‘Little Jack Get Lost’ is everything that’s shite about Christmas songs packed into two and a half minutes. ‘Santa Buddy’ is, well, you can probably guess. It’s a cover of ‘Santa Baby’ which sounds like Wham! with tribal drumming… and yes, it’s segued into one of the songs from ‘Frozen’. Fuck me. It’s not cute, it’s not clever. Irony? No: it just doesn’t have the potential.

A dubstep beat coupled with a strangled snake-charming wheeze makes for a painful backdrop to the croonsome ‘I Fall in Love Too Easily’ and as for the other two tracks, just don’t ask. I couldn’t bring myself to endure any more. Christmas is cancelled this year. Yes, already.
