Telegram are likely to be as unfamiliar to you as they are to me, but it seems the London four-piece have been generating something of a buzz. ‘Taffy Come Home’ arrives ahead of the debut album, due to land on 5th February, and there’s also an extensive tour in the offing.
It’s infectious – and for once, that isn’t a subtle synonym for ‘irritating’: it’s driven by a stonking bassline and some insistent drumming, and incorporates elements of quintessential indie with swirling 60s pop. Rory Atwell’s production is gutsy and has a certain fuzzed-put sonic density which suits the track well.
