The press release describes this single as ‘epic’. Well, it would, wouldn’t it? Only, like its predecessor, ‘Black Swans’, ‘Million Dollar Night’ shows Abel Raise the Cain to be masters of the cinematic anthem.
The production is massive, and the song swells and swells, before surging to a soaring climax. You’ll forgive my lapsing to cliché, given that every one of these descriptors were seemingly made for this release. I may also be inclined to throw in ‘Celtic stadium rock’ for good measure, as a nod to Simple Minds seems appropriate here, only ARC manage to avoid the corny bombast to forge something emotive and resonant. And yes, epic.
