Review: 'H2NY'
'Tremor'

-  Label: 'Self Released'
-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: '13th April 2016'

Our Rating:
In my book hard rock and pop balladry belong in distinct categories - the first raunchy and riff-based, the second melodically song-orientated. Attempts to combine the two more often than not results in a hybrid that is neither fish nor fowl. This London four-piece's debut album is a case in point.

Their sound is promoted as "surging, anthemic and radio-friendly" but I would call it bland, formulaic and overwrought with too many tunes descending into predictable 'whoa-whoa-whoa' type choruses.

H2NY is text speak for 'halfway to New York' and given that this hard working band have already toured the States twice, it's clear that the lure of America is strong.

Good luck to them, but nothing in this 12 track debut strikes me as capable of wowing audiences either side of the pond.
