Review: 'Razor Sharp Death Blizzard'
'You Will Burn'

-  Album: 'You Will Burn' -  Label: 'Beyond Records'
-  Genre: 'Heavy Metal'

Our Rating:
The first thing I think of on starting up this album is Therapy? The title track, which also happens to be the album’s opener, bears many similarities to ‘Innocent X’, from Babyteeth. Only, the brilliantly-named Razor Sharp Death Blizzard take those 90s underground sounds and take them somewhere else, somewhere darker bleaker, more painful. There’s some powerhouse drumming driving all of this, and the density of the sound is something else.

It’s pitched as being for fans of The Exploited, EyeHateGod, Hatebreed, Charger, and Napalm Death, but there’s a lot going on here, with some texture and emotional depth amidst the corpuscle-busting rage which drives the album.

‘There Will Be Blood has the driving, snarling fury of Ministry, but less stark, less grating, instead pushing all-out on the murky, sludgy guitar that punches in the gut with its thick, mid-range orientation. ‘Right Wing Scum’ makes the band’s political position clear, and bursts with incendiary fury over a throbbing, overloading guitar.

‘Defstein’ brings a real throb and chug, and if there’s one thing this album’s packed with, it’s hefty guitar noise. The final track, ‘Have a Nice Day’ brings it all to a brutal conclusion with a low-end sludgy assault that lands like a boot to the face.
