Review: 'Gion, Joel'
'Tomorrow'

-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: '27th January 2017'

Our Rating:
I’m feeling a bit tense. But which tense? Tomorrow is out today, and it’s certainly not a perfect tense. I’ll quit while I’m behind. ‘Tomorrow’ is the new single from the Brian Jonestown Massacre’s ‘tambourine man’, Joel Gion.

Penned in the run-up to the US presidential election, Gion says ‘the tune does some BS-calling out of the rising classism in the USA and at the same time sending a message out to not let things get you down too hard.’ Arguably easier said than done given not only the result of the election, but the shit that’s already been signed off in the days following the inauguration.

Still, ‘Tomorrow’ is a breezy, echo-soaked rough-hewn psychedelic pop nugget with a keen melody, that hints that while ‘tomorrow’s full of doubt’, it could still be better than today, given the right outlook.
