Our Rating:
This duo released their debut 2 or 3 years ago, which I reviewed favourably on these pages so it is good to see them back. This time they have augmented their sound with vocals from Swedish singer Sofia Jernberg who features on three pieces and this does indeed add a new dimension to the music.

The same drums and analogue synthesisers are still there and the music still drones and whirrs but the vibe and intention is different. Jernberg is a renowned figure on the improvised music circuit so it makes sense that she would find a home here, albeit temporarily.

'Duett' is lovely and perhaps is two people singing together without singing. 'Back' is the longest track and all the better for it. Quietly and unobtrusively going nowhere, doing nothing, changing, morphing, shaping and folding back into itself until done. 'Drums Drums' is similar but a tad more uplifting.

On the last track 'Smiling', SJ does her thing to a simple snare and bleepy accompaniment. This album is an interesting diversion from most of what we know as popular music, but I haven't enjoyed it quite as much as last time around. Good music for a quiet stroll to the circumference or along a human forearm.
