Review: 'CHILDCARE'
'Made Simple'

-  Label: 'Lost In The Manor Records'
-  Genre: 'Pop' -  Release Date: '14th April 2017'

Our Rating:
Childcare made simple also happens to be a 1973 book by Claire Rayner, an ex-nurse turned novelist and agony aunt. If Rayner were alive today I'm sure she'd have some sensible advice to give this West London quartet who began their musical careers as precocious pre-teens.

It's a career that may well start and end with this four-track EP. I say this not because the music is bad but simply because there are so many newbie pop bands that sound just like them.

They sing about kissing in a playground and death. The song about death ( Dust) is more interesting than the one about kissing (Kiss?).This is probably because young bands like these are so hedonistically in the moment that to talk about the end of life seems either premature or a downer, or both.

Still, in the video to ‘Kiss?’ they look like they are having fun, cross dressing like post-romantic pranksters.

This is just pop music, after all.
