Review: 'Rivita'
'Tribal Love'

-  Genre: 'Pop' -  Release Date: '13th April 2018'

Our Rating:
With its smooth blend of disco-infused electro-pop and divergent ethnic music, Rivita caught our attention here at W&H back in 2016. Since then, ‘Listen’ has won her the Indian Music Video Award, and the New Delhi-based artist has been building her international profile.

‘Tribal Love’ takes a swipe at transitory love and the post-millennial move toward dating apps and serial relationships, and sings the message that it’s better to be alone than settle for second best. Rivita does this through the medium of smooth, r’n’b infused electropop.

As a whole, the EP hangs together nicely, with some nifty d’n’b beats providing the backdrop to her silky vocals on ‘Galaxy’, while ‘Hunt U Down’ brings a kind of late 90s dance vibe.

Nothing’s overdone, and the multicultural influences are spun in subtly and in well-considered balance, meaning this release is the perfect example of her global potential.
