Review: 'STOPLAR, JUSTIN'
'7 Little Pieces For Avant Garde Piano & Organ No 2'

-  Label: 'navanax01@googlemail.com'
-  Genre: 'Ambient' -  Release Date: '2018'

Our Rating:
This is a free cd, part of a Limited run of 100 copies to be found dropped in some of London's cooler record shops, so good luck finding a copy.

It does exactly what it says it does over the course of the 10 minutes. There are 7 little pieces to listen to as Justin takes the listener on a cool little journey.

The first piece almost sounds like a Cymbalom solo, quite intricate and middle European in sound with a few odd effects thrown in to get the listener thinking.

The second piece is more like speeded up John Cage with some cool piano theatrics before the third piece goes all cartoon soundtrack of the sort Jean Jacques Perrey used to make.

The Fourth piece reworks Three Blind Mice like you'd expect Erik Satie to play it. The fifth piece is sort of Satie crossed with Scott Joplin at a good old pace.

The sixth piece is rather more fractured and percussive before the CD closes with the seventh piece, which sounds like a church organ warming up to soundtrack a horror film and some messy denouement over the course of its three and a half minutes. You know something terrible will have happened.

This is a cool little album from a musician who is obviously just doing what he wants to. No idea how easy it is to get a copy but you can always email Justin at navanax01@googlemail.com.
