Lastigband, is Sen Segur’s founder member Gethin Davies, and latest single promises some lo-fi psychedelia. It’s certainly lo-fi something, and it’s also quite a trip as a primitive drum loop provides the core focus of the backing sparse synth that accompanies some heavy-echoed vocals – also looped in places.
There’s a lot going on in the quite dubby mix, with a strolling bass bringing a nice loose groove to proceeding. Everything interloops, giving this a cyclical, and vaguely off-centred, rather than linear feel, and while I’m not quite sure what’s going on, it’s certainly an interesting listen.
