Review: 'TERRY, JESSE'
'When We Wander'

-  Label: 'Wander Recordings'
-  Genre: 'Alt/Country' -  Release Date: '21st May 2021'

Our Rating:
Not all who wander are lost and this clean-cut American singer songwriter presents himself as one is one of the lucky ones whose roving spirit is grounded by harmonious family support.

On the title track he sings “we always find our way somehow” and his first album since becoming a father oozes contentment and stability.

Terry recorded the album live with his band in a Nashville studio, with the focus on what he calls, “prioritizing emotion and raw performances over perfection”. Not that the songs ever sound remotely like rough demos; on the contrary, the musicianship is slick and album is produced with polish by Neilson Hubbard.

The stars are our guide, the moon is our solace and a bright, summery mood is constant.

It is all safely conventional to the point of blandness but if it’s a peaceful, easy going vibe you are seeking, then Jesse may just be your man.
