Our Rating:
This is the first of a series of new releases from the legendary Robin Guthrie who is still best known for his work in This Mortal Coil as well as collaborating with among others Harold Budd.

This four-track ep opens with Copper a slow keyboard led ambient piece that feels elegiac for the losses we have all felt in the last couple of years, almost neo-classical beautiful and rather succinct like a fond farewell for those we have lost.

Eight East has slowly building shimmering strings and keyboards that feel full of sadness and loss that slowly unfolds like the gentlest of Spiritualized songs.

In Love And At War could be the soundtrack to the end of a relationship and the heartbreak you feel once your finally sitting alone, knowing that your ex won't be coming through the door any time soon and you sit and reflect on how you arrived at this point and the gorgeous music engulfs you and allows you to let all your emotions out.

The ep closes with My Courtesan that almost feels like a love theme that should be sound tracking some romantic scene at the end of a movie as the piano slowly seems to be taking over from the strings and the lovers hold each other tightly while gazing intently into each other's eyes. Like the rest of this ep this is simply beautiful and relaxing music.
