Review: 'Friendmaker'
'Weird'

-  Label: 'House of Strange Vinyl/Bandcamp'
-  Genre: 'Folk' -  Release Date: '21.4.22.'

Our Rating:
Friendmaker are an Irish folk rock band from Carrickmacross and this is the second single from the bands forthcoming debut album that will be on the bands own label House Of Strange Vinyl.

Weird is a mildly weird tune but miles away from being close to the weirdest tune in my current review pile. This is an indie rock song about feeling a little bit weird when you wake up, not believing what you're living through as the pandemic gets to you, The song features a good few samples of Carl Jung, the way the guitars rise towards the end sound great.

The b side is Leaky Mick and Vinny P The Talker a noir tale that starts off slowly as you wonder what this par are going to get up too on this rather Waterboys sounding song that could easily be the outline for a film about the less than dynamic duo as the shuffling beat and gentle piano carries the tale along a variety of roads less travelled.
