The fifth studio album by American singer-songwriter Dietrich Strause covers all the bases of loss, hope, desire and disillusionment with a soothing effect of a fine red wine.
It was recorded by engineer Brian Joseph (Bon Iver, Sufjan Stevens) at Great North Sound, a converted 1800’s farm house in Parsonsfield, Maine where Strause frequently works as a session musician and handyman.
The eight, beautifully crafted songs contain gorgeous melodies and a rich range of delicate instrumentation – muted pianos, synth trumpets, vibraphone, marimba and analog tape delays. These perfectly complement the singer’s soft, dreamy vocals which convey the message that what goes around, comes around. “Nothing breaks, nothing burns, Nothing changes, it only turns” he sings on Love Will Rule The World.

Strause remains calm throughout, even a little detached, yet always manages to sound open-hearted and emotionally engaged.
