Review: 'JNA'
'I Have good Taste, But For Some Reason I Like You'

-  Label: 'Bandcamp'
-  Genre: 'Soul' -  Release Date: '1.7.22.'

Our Rating:
This is JNA's debut single, she's a funk and soul singer from Seattle who is also known as Lauren Ashlie and this ep features the talents of Thione Diopp on drums and Shane Hawley on Guitar. The EP was recorded using Teddy Prendergrass' mixing desk.

The EP opens with Tell Me Why a funky soul song asking why you won't take the hint and leave; this has a late 70's disco feel with hints of Evelyn "Champagne" King and Rose Royce.

Only You is full on longing and breathy vocals from JNA this has a solid backbeat for the gentle as can be funk guitar pattern to repeat over as this tune of betrayal unfolds and reminds me of Teardrops by Womack & Womack.

I Need You re-works a Diana Ross classic into a fresh dancefloor hustle for everyone to get down and funky too in a quite slinky way, this is perfect to sashay too.

The EP closes with Freak that's a new disco floor filler, on a familiar subject, as JNA whispers in your ear about just how much of a Freak she is for you, and why on earth would you not follow her instructions, touch her, kiss her exactly as she desires, so go on give JNA all the love she deserves.
