Review: 'Nosebleed'
'Dance With The Devil'

-  Label: 'TNS Records/Bandcamp'
-  Genre: 'Punk/New Wave' -  Release Date: '11.11.22.'

Our Rating:
Dance With The Devil is Leeds Rock trio Nosebleed's second album, please don't confuse them with legendary 70's band the Nosebleeds. This album was recorded just before the pandemic, they have waited till they can tour again properly to release this album of adrenal rock. Nosebleed are Eliott Verity, Ben Hannah and Dicky Riddims.

The album opens with the frantic title track Dance With The Devil with a speedy punk backing this flies along with football chant backing vocals, this sounds mosh pit ready.

Bad Magic chugs along like they are revving motorbikes, are ready to rumble, on a great gritty greasy rock song, with a super snarly guitar solo. This has echoes of The Hives.

Lost And Found has a bass intro to allow the guitars to punctuate the vocals, that scream, wail as they are joined by that gang of backing singers, propelling them into the middle of the night, when the pianist turns up an goes for it.

Let It Go flies by at a heck of a speed, as they just tell you to Let It Go, move on get on with your life, he ain't coming back, it's done. This is almost an update on the Eddie & The Hotrods or Dr Feelgood English amphetamine fueled blues rock.

Under The Knife feels close to the bone for me, with less than a week till I am next Under The Knife, although they don't mean it that literally, this is more being Under The Knife that chops out the lines or under the thumb of desire unfulfilled. He has the itch that he wants to scratch.

Live Die has propulsive heartbeat rhythm guitars, that stop start, give you a cardiac arrest, while this tale of life and death quickly unfolds.

Short Sharp Pain In The Neck is a good description of a certain sort of person we all have experience of, they want rid of them, this blasts through the reasons.

All I Know slows things down to make this have more of a 60's influence, on a song about not rushing things too much, with echoes of The Pretty Things.

I Don't Know is more Hives style garage punk with a sold chug, as they tell you not to ask them about it, as they don't have any answers for the mess, they and the one they love are in.

I Got A Feeling that in this case is, that you are fucking with his head, well of course you are, its' too much fun not to do his head in, then have songs written about it. Keep it up and we'll have more blazing rock and roll like this.

Round And Round is closer to You Spin Me Round than to Chuck Berry's classic Round And Round, either way this is a top notch speed demon punky rock and roll song.

The album closes with the single Make Up Your Mind that lays out the question and asks or pleads for an answer, will she love him or spurn him, he wants to know, over the slower chugging rock with the wild man vocals, sounding like he's almost on his knees screaming, pleading at her, as the guitar explodes in her face.
