Our Rating:
This Ep features three original members of 1970's punk band Satan's Rats, who supported among others The Sex Pistols, XTC, Slaughter & The Dogs. After the band broke up, they recruited Wendy Wu as singer becoming The Photos. This EP reanimates three classic Satan's Rats tunes, adding a cover of Thin Lizzy's The Rocker with new singer Puss Johnson of Pussycat & The Dirty Johnsons. The three Rats are Olly Harrison, Steve Eagles and Dave Sparrow. This Ep sounds as if they are custom made to be seen playing at Rebellion or any number of other Punk festivals.

From the opening blasts of You Make Me Sick this is in your face, urgent as it comes punk, with Puss Johnson's vocal making clear not to mess with her, with any of your tired crap.

Facade keeps the pace up as the guitars scream at you, to make sure we all know the Facade you hide behind; It feels like bovver punk.

Sex Object is slower at the start, as this song about objectification and how many women don't want to be treated as a Sex Object, instead wanting to be treated with respect, so you can be taken to meet her parents.

Year Of The Rats has all the filth and fury you'd want from grimy punk, with a message to keep fighting against the oppression, as they believe that the time for loving is over, the time for fighting is here, the guitar solo between the verses is spot on, this is in the vein of Vice Squad.

The Ep closes with a cover of Thin Lizzy's The Rocker, with that super chunky riff, with Puss taking on the sneering vocals, explaining just how you should behave if you're The Rocker, some of those things may be frowned on nowadays, but who cares when a tune rocks as much as this does, a great version of this classic that's still looking for trouble.
