The Barclays Cheltenham Jazz Festival returns with a star-studded line-up that includes JAMIE CULLUM, PALOMA FAITH, ELAINE PAIGE, SIR MICHAEL PARKINSON, CURTIS STIGERS, BUDDY GRECO and STEWART LEE.
Running from 28th April – 3rd May, this year’s Cheltenham Jazz Festival boasts six days of the world’s finest jazz and features its most exciting line up to date.
Piano playing superstar JAMIE CULLUM has been invited to be the Festival’s first ever Guest Director and has personally selected some of his favourite artists from across the musical spectrum to perform. His choices range from dynamic Norwegian group BEADY BELLE to a battle of the beats club night with jazz drummer SEB ROCHFORD and beatbox pioneer SHLOMO.
Cheltenham prides itself on providing unique festival experiences and this year an exclusive collaboration between retro soul starlet PALOMA FAITH and THE GUY BARKER ORCHESTRA promises to be a spectacular highlight. Paloma burst onto the music scene in 2009 with a top ten debut album and a string of hit singles and she comes to Cheltenham for a special one off performance of some of her favourite jazz songs. This is a real coup for Cheltenham and is sure to be a stunning concert.
Internationally renowned actress, recording artist, producer and broadcaster ELAINE PAIGE is also set to light up the Festival with a two-show celebration of her love of classic jazz. The first lady of musical theatre performs at the Town Hall and the Daffodil Restaurant for what will be her only UK shows of 2010.
