Holmfirth's own NAPOLEON IIIRD (aka James Mabbett) has unveiled the title and cover of his brilliant new album. Entitled "Christiania" (after the 'self proclaimed autonomous area' Freetown Christiania in Copenhagen), the album is a collection of lushly textured pop songs and evocative, extended textural drones, on the subject of small-town life and escaping its constraints.
NAPOLEON IIIRD has had a busy few years even whilst writing: he toured Europe and the UK with acts as diverse as WILD BEASTS and YO! MAJESTY, formed part of DAMO SUZUKI's backing band, played guitar in new Bella Union signings LONE WOLF, and performed at a host of large-scale shows and festivals including Club NME @ Koko, Reading and Leeds, Xbox Live, End Of The Road, Moor, Woolfire and Truck. All this while finding time to write and record the album that many will consider his magnum opus.
The first single "The Unknown Unknown" will be sent out to fans in the next few weeks. People can sign up to receive the track here.
