Alien prog-ravers HENGE are swinging back into action with the release of their new single “Slingshot/Hypersleep”.
Having blasted off from Planet Earth with their previous single “Ascending”, the latest record sees the intergalactic four-piece navigate their way beyond the Solar System as they slingshot from planet to planet until they reach deep space, where they drift into blissful hypersleep.
Bandleader and ship’s captain Zpor elaborates:
"When setting out on long voyages into the depths of space, I am always on the lookout for an extra bit of thrust where I can find it. As we begin our journey from Earth to the distant planet of Voltus B, we can pick up additional speed by harnessing the gravitational pull of the Solar System's outer planets—a technique known as a slingshot manoeuvre. With the planets soon to align perfectly for our mission, we invite you to join us on this exhilarating slingshot tour of the outer solar system. Trust me, the views of Jupiter and Saturn will be nothing short of spectacular."
HENGE follow up the spectacular 3D animated music video for “Ascending”, created by filmmaker and visual artist Antony Barkworth-Knight, with an exciting new visual space adventure for “Slingshot/Hypersleep”. The “Slingshot” segment of the video, produced by HENGE themselves, brings viewers aboard their spaceship as they journey out of the solar system, while Antony Barkworth-Knight returns to direct the whacked-out “Hypersleep” sequence. Alive with oscillating synths, eccentric vocals, and cryogenically crisp beats, “Slingshot” is a duet between spacecraft captain Zpor and the ship’s central computer. New album ‘Journey to Voltus B’ will land on 31 January. It follows debut album ‘Attention Earth!’, which was released in 2018, 2020’s ‘ExoKosm’ and 2023’s ‘Alpha Test 4’. New single “Slingshot/Hypersleep” is to be released on 10 January and will be available on all platforms.
