Review: 'CHAPMAN FAMILY, THE'
'This One's For Love (Single)'

-  Label: 'No More Records'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: '3rd June 2013'

Our Rating:
The A-side may pay lip service to the notion of what an upbeat commercial tune ought to sound like, but you won't find any reassuring lines about love saving the world here.

If you substitute the word 'rage' for 'love', you get a better sense of where this 5-piece from Teeside are coming from.

The menacing theatricality of the video for the song accurately pitches it as a punky take on New Romanticism.

The B-side - Into The Breach - is even more uncompromising; a storming six minute rant in which Kingsley Chapman spits out the f-word in practically every line ; "let's fuck everything over" is the unambiguous message.

Crude, angry, spiteful, vitriolic and quite brilliant.
