Review: 'Pixel'
'Mantle'

-  Album: 'Mantle' -  Label: 'Raster-Noton'
-  Genre: 'Ambient' -  Catalogue No: 'R-N 139'

Our Rating:
Fractured glitch bleeps emerge from buzzing swells of throbbing, fuzzed-out bass tones, distorted and messy. Sludgy distortion is cut through with pulsing beats and toppy pops and pips that bounce like Atari ping-pong between the speakers. Microbeats filter down and trickle like grains of sand against electrical mains hum and sonar pulses like fog horns 10 fathoms below the ocean.

Interesting, certainly, but more of a cerebral experience than an album designed for listening pleasure.
