With their debut album, new Blues outfit Rabbit Foot have written and produced an effective 7 track tribute to the genre they love. Based predominantly around vocal, guitar and bass (with a touch of percussion thrown in where needed), it's a polished collection.
With such a limited instrumental group, the sound is relatively minimalist - no full band tracks or production - but there's more than enough here to keep the listener interested. Opener 'Wang Dang Doodle' is an excellent introduction to the sound, with fuzzed up production to give everything a dirty, raw blues sound.

Further highlights include the clean, straightforward half-tempo female warning of 'Leave My Man Alone', and the shuffled clickety click and guitar licks of 'Smokestack Lightnin''.
All in all, this is a solid selection created as a love letter to blues. There are a limited number of tracks, which might be a good thing as it gets the sound of the band across without outstaying its welcome - it will be interesting to see how they build on this for next time.
