Review: 'Magic Panda'
'Temple of a Thousand Lights'

-  Album: 'Temple of a Thousand Lights' -  Label: 'Tigerbeat6'
-  Genre: 'Dance' -  Release Date: '24th June 2013'-  Catalogue No: 'meow198'

Our Rating:
Jamie Robson is Magic Panda, and his line of work is electronic music. His debut album, ‘Temple of a Thousand Lights’ includes the lead tracks of his two previous EPs and demonstrates a penchant for delicate yet persistent beats and layered sounds.

It’s nice enough, and while the uptempo ‘Tokyo’ and ‘Days are Numbered’ pulse along nicely, much of the album is given to lower-level sonic diffusions.

I’d take this strain of cerebral dance music over banging choonz any day, and the introverted shuffling and rolling chimes of ‘Mothlight’ and soft swirls of ‘Zwolf’ make for some mellow times.
