The press release threatens a band whose influences span the angular scuzzy riffery of Soundgarden of Queens of the Stone Age (don’t they all?) to the classic texture of Santana and BB King. Sheesh. What it actually translates to is a fairly standard mainstream blues rock approach to songwriting, with the guitars turned up and overdriven just a few more notches.
‘Alone Again’ with its powerhouse piston drumming and sludgy guitars is the pick of the three tracks by a mile, but on the whole, it’s nothing to shout about.
