Review: 'DAYDREAM CLUB, THE'
'Found (EP)'

-  Label: 'Self Released'
-  Genre: 'Folk' -  Release Date: '28th October 2013'

Our Rating:
Adam Pickering and Paula Walker play what they call "rootsy folk-pop", an unashamedly mainstream commercial sound with a strong emphasis on pop.

The title track, Found is the most radio friendly tune with such bright, optimistic lyrics : "If I am strong and proud, then I am found" - that it feels churlish to consider the loss that might result if you can't meet these conditions.

For this , and the other four tunes on the EP, purity and simplicity is the name of the game. The madrigal-like harmonies on Remember Me are so serene that backing instruments hardly seem necessary.

This is presumably why the couple have confined busier sounding remixes of each song to a separate disc. The originals are uncomplicated and acoustic , the remixes are busier and more beat, i.e. percussion, driven.

It's all so sweet and wholesome that the devil in me makes me yearn to hear them do a dark murder ballad!
