Our Rating:
Well this is about as bad as the band's name suggests. Let's face it, anyone who would want to sound like Charlie, William and Harry (we'll leave baby George out of it for now) has to have a screw loose. No, we don't get songs about having someone to squeeze your toothpaste out for you, but we may as well do.

Apparently, this debut EP was some eleven years in the making and from the sound of it most of the time was wasted as whatever it is they have been studying at Columbia College it isn't the art of song-writing or making great music. 'Weird Weather' instead presents 6 of the most tepid, forgettable schmindie tunes imaginable. The only bright spot is the 8 bars or so of Landslide the third song which sounds like they have ripped off ELO. Other than that several listens haven't made any impression on me at all.

They also don't sound like weird weather. They should sound like a raging tornado or a tsunami hitting land and instead it's more like a drizzly grey September day. Quite why Pat Sansome of Wilco was prepared to produce this is beyond me. I guess only the band's friends will get this album. If you want to hear a third rate The Feeling then Future Monarchs might be for you otherwise just say No.
