‘Love or Pity’ is the debut single by London indie pop trio Felt Tip and they’ve only scored themselves a slot with the prestigious Fierce Panda label. We’re invited to ‘think skeletal guitars, neatly-balanced rhythms and wee excitable rushes of melody.’ And yes, it is a tidy little piece of guitar-led indie with a pleasant, easy melody, but any sense of these chaps being excitable – or exciting – is kept under wraps. Ultimately, then it’s ok, no more and no less, and consequently, I neither love nor pity them.
