Review: 'SEVEN NINES AND TENS'
'Constants & Axioms (single)'

-  Label: 'Fluttery Records'
-  Genre: 'Post-Rock' -  Release Date: '1st January 2014'

Our Rating:
Seven Nines and Tens are a post-metal trio from Vancouver / BC, Canada whose sound is described as a pick'n'mix of Math Rock, Punk, Jazz, and Black Metal.

They were formed in 2008 by guitarist David Cotton who is accompanied by bassist Earl Heath and drummer Riley Roukema. Their name comes from a line in the track Stars by Illinois fuzztone-rockers Hum.

This guitar driven single is epic in scope with a wall of noise sound but it contains little to separate them from many other bands playing instrumental rock of the same type and on the same scale.

A more abrasive two minute track Kemptville shows more of their hardcore influences but is here just seems like a brief afterthought to follow on from Constants & Axioms .

More of an album band, perhaps?
