Ah yes, the classic twin-vocal metal assault. Dead Winter’s two vocalists are listed in the credits as Laura Russell – Screams and Ant Jones – Cleans (I’m assuming it’s not his day job, anyway). Suffice it to say Laura doesn’t scream like a girl, but rather a demon with its tail on fire. With a blistering dual-pronged guitar assault, the six-piece deliver forth some heavy shit, man.
‘Every Silver Lining Has a Cloud’ is the most accessible of the six tracks, with a clean lead vocal and a clear hook: the remainder are all about the raw power, the lead vocals a hellish guttural growl and howl. Punishing, bleak and strong stuff.
