Much fuss has been made of Lapland of late, the fire of fervent critical comments fuelled significantly by The Guardian, who went so far as to call their eponymous debut album – which still isn’t out for another month yet - ‘album of the year, so far’, and throwing comparisons to Bruce Bacharach with a chillwave vibe.
‘Where Did It Go?’ is bound to add to the already enormous expectations: it’s mellow, dreamy, indie pop slowed down and sedated and spun in soft hues of shoegaze. It drifts by like a wispy cloud across a blue summer sky. Hazy, lazy and layered, the songs nimbly envelops the senses and lingers before dissolving into the distance.
