Review: 'Brace/Choir'
'Five Fingered Leaf'

-  Label: 'Tapete Records'
-  Genre: 'Rock'

Our Rating:
Lifted from their recent debut album ‘Turning On Your Double,’ ‘Five Fingered Leaf’ encapsulates everything that’s great about Brace/Choir. Atmospheric and moody, guitars twang, shimmer and melt through the lonely air over a strolling bass and assertive rhythm. ‘Satisfier’ is lighter, a motorik shoegaze indie tune reminiscent of The Early Years at their best. The chorus jangles, but it’s a psychedelic swirl rather than anything remotely twee, and the vocals ring out in a tide of reverb. Over the course of its seven and a half minutes, it builds and builds through plugging away insistently, the guitars surging to a euphoric finish.
