Lost at Sea is the new album from North Wales/Cheshire band, The Reads, and their self-described "ambient-electro-folk-rock" sound doesn't disappoint.
Opening tracks Drowned and Lost At Sea give you a real feel for the bands sound and direction with melodic guitar riffs and soothing vocals this album is perfect for relaxing in the sun on a Sunday afternoon. The album also contains a pleasant surprise in the package, Schnitzler, which is fronted with female vocals giving an alternative twist on the established Reads character.
Closing track, Spitting Feathers has a sublime rhythm that brings the album to a satisfying close. So far, Spitting Feathers is the only track to have a video accompaniment, which shows a montage of old video clips. Both the video and track demonstrate the creativity of the band and gives an insight into the market they are heading for.
